As you may or may not know, March 17th is Saint-Patrick’s day. It’s a day to celebrate the Irish in everybody…because on St-Patty’s, everyone’s Irish! That’s what’s so great about the ‘holiday’, the Irish are a great and accepting people, always looking to the greener side of life and gladly accepting others into the fold. So being Irish, its a fun day for the whole family that we’ve celebrated since I can remember.
The countdown is on and St-Patty’s is 11 days away, I though it might be fun to fill you guys in on some of the Irish happenings of my family, traditions and such, an Irish recipe or two and some good ol’ authentic Irish music to top it all off and get you in the mood to ‘party ’till you’re filthy‘.
Going to Irish Pubs and eating Irish food are a fun part of the whole celebration, but I like the Montreal Saint-Patrick’s Day parade. My uncle Pete walks in the parade every year, so we make it a point to catch his eye as he walks by. The people in the crowd, young and old, are a happy bunch. People stop and say “Top O’ the Mornin’ to ya” regardless of ethnicity, religion or the language they speak. It’s a great atmosphere and I urge you strongly to be a part of it!
So to start off the first of many Saint-Patty’s related posts on the right foot,
This is probably one of the most famous Irish blessings, that I now wish upon you:
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
Have a good day gang, and remember to…![]()
