Time for another St-Paddy’s post! Now that you’ve got that Irish Stout Stew in yer bellies, its time to dance those calories away with an Irish jig or three!
I’ve uploaded some of my favorite ditties for your listening pleasure. I grew up listening to these and each song brings fond memories of St-Paddy’s days past.
There are plenty of classic here, including the incomparable Danny Boy, an Irish anthem if there ever was one. Its a big favorite of mine, brings a tear to me eye don’t ye be doubting. Its bitter sweet melody and somber yet encouraging lyrics make you feel joy and sadness at the same time. The version I’m offering here is sung by the three tenors, but there are many, many versions to be found out there.
Other favorites are Finnegan’s wake, an example of Irish drunken revelry at its best, or The Orange and the Green, detailing a young Irish lad being torn between his Catholic (Green) mother and Protestant (Orange) father. Enjoy them all, and have a laugh and sing and be merry, St-Paddy’s be on its way!

Finnegans Wake - The Rising Pints
